Ben Boldt
Q: What is driving you to pursue nursing?
A: Nursing was part of my family growing up. We have nurses in our family – some working as medicine women in our first nation's tribe and others working for min housing/public health. It is something that will allow me to give back to my community.
Q: Can you tell us about your time in the program?
A: My experience with this program has been nothing but outstanding. From the instructors, always answering my questions, the placement team coordinating my clinical locations or just the close-knit family feel.
Numerous instructors have helped with interview preparation. One professor met with me one-on-one over the winter break to outline what to expect, and the types of answers they would be looking for.
Q: What has been your favorite part of the program?
A: I would have to say my favorite part was the clinicals. I am a hands-on learner, so it really helped translate the classroom knowledge by making it more concrete.
Q: What impact do you want to have as a nurse?
A: I want to make patients feel special and heard in the hospital setting and give it my all to better my community.
